Beach House Barbecue Instructions for Downloading and Personalizing Invitation on Microsoft Word or Microsoft Publisher
You will need:
1. Click on the Beach Invitation link to access the invitation image.
2. As you cursor over the image, a small rectangular box with four icons should appear. As you cursor over the first icon, it should say “save this image”. Click on the icon to save the image as a picture.
3. Open a blank Word document.
4. Click on Insert, Picture, From File. Find where you stored the invitation image and click on it to insert.
5. Once it is inserted into your Word document, click on the image and drag the corners of the image to resize the image to whatever size you prefer.
6. From the Drawing menu, open a text box. Position it over the personalized information you wish to change. Set the font to Freestyle Script at whatever size is appropriate for the size invitation you have chosen. (If your computer does not have this font, choose another font that complements the invitation.) Choose a centered format (as opposed to justified right or left). Type in your personalized information. You may want to re-type all the information to make sure the font color is uniform. If there is a line around your text box, go to the Line icon (usually indicated by a paintbrush) on the Drawing menu. Choose No Line.
7. Save the document.
8. Print a test copy.
9. Decide if you like the placement. If not, go back and adjust it by resizing or moving the image.
10. If it looks OK, print it on a sheet of heavy white paper. Trim both the upper section and the lower section of the invitation to size. Glue back-to-back with a glue stick.
11. If you want to change the menu, it will work best to use the blank menu background. Position a text box over the menu background and type the menu you have chosen. From the drawing menu, select Fill Color (usually indicated by a paint bucket icon). Select No fill for your textbox.
